Privacy Policy

Runn (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a mobile application for GPS run tracking and social running built by Thor Remiendo. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.

1. Data we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you use Sign in with Apple, an Apple-provided identifier. We also store the display name and profile photo you choose.

Location data

Runn uses your device's GPS to record your run route, distance, and pace. Location is accessed in the foreground during a run and in the background so your route is recorded continuously even when the screen is off. We do not collect location when the app is closed and no run is active.

Fitness and motion data

We use your device's motion sensors to count steps during a run. We store workout summaries (distance, duration, pace, calories, step count) associated with your account.

Photos

If you add photos to a run, those images are uploaded and stored on our servers. Share cards you generate are saved to your device's photo library only — we do not upload them.

Usage and device data

We collect basic usage data (screens visited, features used) and device identifiers (push notification token) to operate the app and send you notifications you have opted into.

2. How we use your data

  • Provide and operate the Runn app, including run tracking, debrief generation, and community features.
  • Show your runs and profile to other users you follow or who follow you, according to the privacy settings you choose per run.
  • Send push notifications for social interactions (likes, comments, follows) and run alerts you have enabled.
  • Improve and debug the app using aggregated, anonymised usage patterns.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these circumstances:

  • Supabase (database and authentication infrastructure, hosted in the US).
  • Expo / EAS (push notification delivery).
  • Mapbox (map tile rendering — your route coordinates are sent to Mapbox only to render the map and are not stored by them for other purposes).
  • Law enforcement or regulators when legally required.

4. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data — runs, photos, profile, social connections — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings.
  • Delete your account and all associated data directly from Settings → Delete account in the app.
  • Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via your device settings.
  • Request a copy of your data by emailing us.

6. Children

Runn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will notify you of material changes via a notice in the app or by email. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
